Sandy Lerman is an accomplished New York and Florida artist whose richly detailed still lifes bring together objects, memories, and personal histories in imaginative and often unexpected ways.
Now in her 80s, Lerman has spent more than six decades creating intricate compositions filled with antique objects, family photographs, patterned textiles, and collected treasures. Each painting invites closer examination, revealing subtle connections, humor, and stories that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Originally from New York City, Lerman studied at Queens College and was part of the city's figurative art community before relocating to Florida. Her work has been exhibited at the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach and was the subject of a 2019 retrospective at the Paul Fisher Gallery in West Palm Beach.
Lerman was recently selected as one of just six artists for the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County's 2026–2027 juried solo exhibition program. Her exhibition will be presented at the Gayle and Paul Gross Gallery in Lake Worth Beach, Florida, June 25 through August 6, 2027.
